Quiet Storm: Music for Insects

Quiet Storm is a project in which I will collaborate with the Spanish company ProTiberia to experiment with how sound can improve the mating process of the Tenebrio molitor. This is a highly experimental project that combines art and science.

As an artist, I want to bring a poetic element to the farming of beetles: I want to consider them sentient beings who can enjoy music. We should not regard them as mere commodities to be extracted like coal, but as living creatures who coexist with us. The better we treat them, the better the outcome will be.

Studio Other Spaces, an architecture bureau in Berlin, will mentor us in making this project a success.
