Stockwatch

Stockwatch is a software program that was developed in the aim of the Electronic Music Project, a subject that is part of the composition course at ESMAE in Porto, Portugal, under guidance of professor Carlos Guedes. Stockwatch is an interactive application that allows users to compose music based on the quotes from the stock exchanges worldwide. Stockwatch converts the data into music in real time and subsequently performs an analysis on that music to generate music based on that. Stockwatch was shown at ESMAE in january 2008 and has been released as a freeware program. Currently it is in the running for a development grant of the New South Wales government in Australia. This grant will enable to develop a more sophisticated second version of the software.
